POOCH PAWS DOG TRAINING CLUB

at St.Olaves

Tuesday evenings & Saturday Mornings £90 for 6-weeks

cost & details

Cost: 6-week course, 55-minutes per class. £90 booking online to secure a space, maximum of 6 per class
Start age: All ages are welcome, it is a myth that an old dog can't learn new tricks. Puppies can start as soon as possible after the first vaccine at the owner's discretion.
Vaccinations: All canines attending group classes must be up to date with core vaccines DHP & LEPTO. Puppies must have started the course and show the vaccine card on completion.
Equipment: Clicker and treats, plus more: You will receive info via email once you book. Clickers can be purchased for £4
Method: Positive reinforcement and marker training utilising a clicker, used in all PPDTC classes. This really helps with clear communication and accelerates learning. CLICK HERE for more information on this method.
My dog doesn't get on with other dogs: Classes are not a suitable environment. Please get in touch to ask about your options.

what will I learn

POOCH PAWS DOG TRAINING CLUB SCHEME: PPDTCS

There are EIGHT levels to work through which complement the Kennel Club Scheme tests plus inject some extras. Take a look below for more information on the exercises covered. Exercises that are repeated across levels progress in difficulty to achieve a higher standard of training. You are provided with more information on these exercises once you have signed up for a class.

BRONZE LEVEL: Once this is passed you can begin to work on gundog training.
SILVER LEVEL: At this level you can begin Rally Obedience training.

PPDTCS TESTS

Tests will occur every 12-weeks. You can submit for testing sooner via video if you are a joined to a yearly membership subject to an assessment fee.

KENNEL CLUB GOOD CITIZEN DOG SCHEME: KCGCDS.

“The Kennel Club Good Citizen Dog Scheme is the largest dog training programme in the UK. Now a well-established dog training programme that has been in operation since 1992. The Scheme is open to all dogs, young or old, pedigree or Crossbreed, whether Kennel Club registered or not.”
To sit for any KCGCDS, you must first pass PPDTCs. * When applicable: there has to be a minimum of 4 owners ready and willing to take the test and an outside examiner has to be pre-booked which is subject to availability. There is a cost of £10 per handler/dog team to sit the test which usually takes place on weekends only. You may not be tested within the group of dogs you are usually training with.
